I have finally found a safety "gate" for our stairs. I have been trying to find one that will block the bottom stair, so she won't climb up and sit down- only to fall off and inevitably hit her head. I also had to have a gate-- stepping over something like this would get very annoying fast! I looked high and low for a used version of this (after I found the new one at Target)- but this is very popular for not only babies, but pets as well. It is an expandable play-pen with gate. I love it and she doesn't even want to bother the steps now! It is even big enough to protect my ficus tree from little hands digging in the dirt. Notice the last picture where she likes to climb, once she got on the box- couldn't figure out how to get down! She is trying to get her knees and feet up on everything! Even the dishwasher door-- when it's down while I'm loading/unloading! Her favorite thing right now is turning on the bathroom faucet- now she is tall enough to put her fingers in the water and suck it off! She cracks me up!! By the way she turns 11 months old today!! My how time has flown by!
