Our Weekend

We tried to have a relaxing weekend to make-up for working 140 cows last weekend! We were both dragging by the end of the week. We also had an exciting Friday- atleast adrenaline pumping noon hour for me. I was all dress up and ready for the Poultry Festival's Ladies Luncheon, Friday afternoon. We were beginning the festivities with a speaker and acknowleding all of the former cooking queens when the tornado sirens started going off and you know me and tornados!! I started panicking especially when my phone and other ladies phones started ringing!! Well, needless to say I went out into the hallway of the convention center to use my phone (and hide) :-). The event coordinator tried to get us to continue eating- stating that it was just precautionary and that they would let us know if we needed to be worried. So, I tried that (after convincing my mother to call me if they mentioned anything in my area)... 2 minutes later my mom was calling me. I headed straight for the hallway (again). :-) The hotel staff finally decided to evacuate the ladies into an interior ballroom across the hall. I think I was the only one that did not want to be standing in this giant room with HUGE light fixtures hanging above me and I migrated to the wall. A few other ladies that I work with followed me. There were quite a few funnels sighted all over Northwest Arkansas. Here are links to local tv stations with pictures: Hometown and Hometown Channel- You'll have to look for 6/12 storm pics

So- Here are cute picture from the weekend.

Helping Daddy vacuum!!
Miss Coolness. I put her hair in pig tails this weekend and it's the cutest thing ever! We also went out in papa's boat and cruised the lake. I love this swimming suit, too!
We bought a little pool for our back patio. She loved playing in the water and being able to get in and out on her own. She's looking for trouble!

Mama can I splash you?!

I think next time I will not use the little swimmer diapers and just let her go naked or in her swim suit. The swimmer diapers just seemed to hold water and she would drip water when she ran around the patio.

Um. Excuse me. But aren't the sirens to indicate THAT A TORNADO HAS BEEN SPOTTED!!! Did those people not pay attention during tornado drills in elementary school? I think you were very smart not to stand under the glass chandeliers!!

Oh! I totally agree about the swim diapers. I only use them in public pools. All they do is soak up pool water.
